CATHEDRAL CATHOLIC WEDDING IN BISMARCK, NORTH DAKOTA WITH GREEK GARDEN PARTY RECEPTION THEME.
Emme & I knew of each other since we were pretty young, we grew up in towns next to each other and went to small town churches that shared a priest.
Emme was really excited about her details, so I just had to do them against white marble (even if it meant standing on a chair the entire time).
The invitation set was incredibly classy, but all the more when adding her something blue shoes, grandmother’s clutch and brooch, and the soft lace of her veil.
A hilariously sharp contrast from the above statement is that the girls ate McDonald’s while they got ready because that’s Emme’s favorite food.
Emme’s golden hair was made into a braided crown adorned with gold leaves.
The groom arrived for a beautiful first look on a green lawn against the lovely white building.
My other favorite part of this Cathedral is the phenomenal gold door on the side of the building, perfect for couples’ portraits.
After some wedding party photos, we headed inside so the couple could pray together and read letters from each other before they got married.
The Cathedral in Bismarck’s exterior against the blue sky is a really lovely sight.
Their ceremony was led by a Deacon from our very small towns who is honestly a staple in the entire community.
This image is one of my FAVORITES from the entire day, and it’s the reason that I follow the couple around relentlessly to catch some of these truly candid moments.
After stopping near the Capitol building for her Love Story moment, we took a bus to an overlook where you can see the river for some softly lit mid-day bridal party and couples portraits.
Their reception was carefully planned out and Emme used the words “Greek garden party” themed in her inquiry – which was the exact moment I was determined to shoot this wedding!
Busts with greenery and roses were their centerpieces, contrasting the beautiful brick tones.
These were the best cupcakes I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not kidding, I could have eaten 18 of them. They had a filling. Just wow. Unbelievable.
Heartwarming and hilarious speeches led us to dances outside well into night time – and this is July in North Dakota, so that didn’t come until about 10pm!
CHEERS TO EMME & JAKE!
