A TIMELESS AND ELEGANT CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL SPRING WEDDING IN SIOUX FALLS, SD AND HOLIDAY INN HOTEL RECEPTION.
A Sioux Falls wedding for my books was sooo fun to do, being able to shoot in my own Cathedral and my own downtown was a really wonderful time.
A flat lay of my dreams! I was obsessed with their white & soft blue invitations and Robert’s floral pocket square alongside the West Coast Catholic Rosary and necklace.
Morgan started the day reading a heartfelt letter from Robert and had our whole team tearing up with her.
Morgan got into her stunning gown with a partially open back and her bridesmaids were almost as excited as she was when she was fully ready.
My 2nd shooter got to be with the men for part of the morning and we were grateful to all be in the same hotel with ideal windows.
This first look was straight out of a dream as Robert smiled with incredible joy at his bride on the steps of the most beautiful building in Sioux Falls.
This Cathedral has a huge lawn and front steps, so we were able to take all of our portraits there and save a ton of time not traveling to a second location.
Many church portraits later, it was time to hide Morgan and get the show on the road.
And yeah, as I said, this Cathedral is one for the books. The chandeliers, the immaculate lighting, and the baldacchino are almost too much to photograph in a single mass, let alone adding a beautiful couple saying their vows.
This Cathedral is especially fun because it is that of St. Joseph, the patron of my company!
Morgan’s veil was the talk of the day, as most people had never even seen one like it and the way the texture moved over her satin dress was angelic.
After getting married, these two shared some joyful hugs and moments off to the side before heading outside to celebrate.
At the lovely Holiday Inn Hotel, the ballroom they chose has windows on either side that basically allow you to see the entire city, which had guests peering outside the entire night.
Robert surprised his mom with their dance song that was especially close to her heart, melting her to tears in seconds. It was the sweetest thing to watch.
Instead of a traditional sunset session, we did a flashy session right outside the hotel. It had been storming (and pouring on and off) all day, and the parking lot of this hotel isn’t flattering by any means. It’s all about angles and points of view! We still got some amazing night portraits out of this one little corner of rainy sidewalk.
A few games later, glow sticks were passed out and the party really got started!
