A lovely Catholic ceremony with a sprawling altarpiece & A DIY RECEPTION AT ADORN AT THE DEL
This altarpiece is my favorite in Vegas! This was truly a DIY reception that melted hearts and surprised loved ones with the endless details that this couple put together and created themselves.
— also known to their friends as Armae & Dom. My first wedding of the 2021 season & my first wedding at Adorn at the Del, and hopefully not my last. Not only was this venue a beautiful, Spanish style location with palms layering the front, it was a breath of fresh air with its crisp white interiors, delicate details in the black industrial ceilings, and luxe furniture and chairs.
The ceremony was held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Henderson, NV, where Father John led a truly engaging ceremony involving incense (my favorite) and an obvious admiration for this prayerful couple and their story, which by the way is one of the CUTEST I’ve heard thus far.
This nuptial mass also featured several filipino traditions – the cord (a rosary), coins, and veil. some of their very best friends had the roles of putting the veil and cords on them, and those images are absolutely magic, and bring so much additional beauty to the wedding liturgy.
Dom & Armae met when they were in elementary school back in New York, and didn’t know each other very well until Armae moved to Las Vegas with her family in 7th grade. They lightly stayed in contact on social media, and once they were adults, their friendship was rekindled. Dom was stationed in Japan, and they began a relationship long distance, until finally after one year, he was able to move to Vegas. The following year, Dom proposed at this very church, because it just so happened to have beautiful statues of St. Francis & St. Clare — Dominique & Rochelle’s confirmation and patron saints (what!!). The photos from their ceremony & sacrament of marriage are truly enchanting.
As I previously mentioned, Dom & Armae made a ton of their decor, putting all of their free time in quarantine into these beautiful pieces, including a giant wooden flower arch that went seamlessly from color to color, a large wooden arbor above their sweetheart table, a photo booth station, and countless centerpieces, all layering the gorgeous wooden tables at Adorn at the Del. All of these make me so proud to be a photographer here in Vegas!
Not only did they have lovely DIY decor, they also had some really incredible and unique food and drinks all over their reception too, like a boba bar, adorable desert cart, and to end the night, a churro truck!
After dinner, the couple’s close friends went up and played some live music to hype everyone up, followed by some hilarious games, and finally, a sparkler exit!
This giant bridal party (including two “bride’s bears” — Armae’s best guy friends from grade-school) was so fun to hang out with and were incredibly supportive of their longtime friends getting married.
We even found these perfect pink oleanders in bloom just across the street to photograph the couple at.
