A FLORIDA SPRING WEDDING AT BASILICA OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH AND COUNTRY CLUB RECEPTION.
This was an associate wedding and boy did we pair the right photographer with this couple! Lindsay’s love for beauty and elegance showed immediately in the details that she set aside for my associate.
Her gown even had adjustable tulle sleeves that could be pulled down or made into tank top type straps for the reception.
Lindsay LOVES pearls. Todd actually got her a gift the day before the wedding and got her pearl earrings but he had NO IDEA that her veil was going to have pearls all over it and the rest of the jewelry would match perfectly!
A gorgeous green area served as the perfect backdrop for this soft blue palette.
Their ceremony took place at the STUNNING Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Jacksonville, Florida.
Todd’s reaction to his bride was hilarious and captured so well with him leaning back in shock at her beauty.
This ceremony had so much beauty! It’s important as a photographer to capture things at every range: super close up, close up, medium range, and wide, in order to tell the full scope of the story.
My associate commented on how reverent and invested not only the bride + groom were during the Liturgy, but really the entire congregation. It was really beautiful to witness everyone worshipping the Lord together and praying for the newly married couple.
MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PART was right after the Mass, Lindsey and Todd were just glued to each other and it was like nobody else was there. My associate said that she almost felt strange being there herself capturing the moments, but it was a grace for sure just to witness their pure and holy love for the Lord and each other!
A few more church portraits later (both inside and outside!), we headed to the venue to take more of Lindsay & Todd’s friends and family.
Todd loves golf so when the reception was on a golf course and we were taking photos, someone brought him a tee, ball, and a club to hit a shot. It was actually a really good hit, too, for one try!
At the reception, Lindsay’s best friend was unable to make it because she joined the Sisters of Life last year and was on her week-long silent retreat during the wedding. She and Lindsey had shared many years of cherished memories together as they both encouraged each other in their Vocations. She wrote a letter to Lindsay on her wedding day that two of her other friends read during the reception. Not kidding, it literally sounded like a letter between two saint friends that you would read about after they were canonized. So holy, motivating, moving, and inspiring!! There were a lot of tears shed (My associate even teared up listening and she didn’t even know them)!
Before entering the reception, many brides choose to take their veil out. Lindsay opted for a short pearly veil instead, which was SO cute and changed her look up in a way that was still noticeable and adorable but without changing her outfit or something that takes a lot of time.
Emotional speeches and sweet first dances later, the party was fully underway and a hilarious dance floor ensued. A few of Lindsey and Todd’s friends even serenaded the guests with some music!
