A VIBRANT AND ELEGANT CATHOLIC CHRISTMAS WEDDING FULL OF CHEER AND POINSETTIAS AT SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH IN ABERDEEN, SOUTH DAKOTA.
What started as a simple swing dance turned into a beautiful love story. Josh asked Sophia to join her for a dance, and after talking these two found our their families grew up together in small-town South Dakota. He had forgotten to get Sophia’s number, but these two ran into each other at the March for Life in South Dakota and he didn’t let her get away this time! These two were married just a couple days after Christmas, and by all means their day was full of cheer!
Sophia started the day slipping into her dress with the help of her mom and sisters before a sweet first look with her dad. Our lady was present too – I was struck by the reflection of the love between Sophia and her mom and our Heavenly Mother’s love for us! Truly a sweet reminder! Then it was time for Sophia and Josh’s first look in the middle of the Christmas tree lights. One of the best parts of a Christmas wedding? The church dresses up with you!
Catholic Christmas Wedding: The Nuptial Mass
What was the most important part of the day to Sophia & Josh? Their nuptial mass + truly showing the beauty of their faith to those who are closest to them. Their mass at Sacred Heart Church did just that, and these two sharing so much joy after receiving the Eucharist together for the first time as husband and wife was just the cherry on top.
Catholic Christmas Wedding: The Reception
Sophia, Josh & their crew with fur coats and brights florals were chef’s kiss! Followed by a reception at the Shriner Center with sweet Christmas touches (hello candy canes!), a bridal party scavenger hunt, and the prettiest cotton candy sunset one has ever seen.
To round out this catholic Christmas wedding a dance floor & night that was a showstopper with Sophia’s dress twirling.
