Film photos always strike me in a special way. They make me nostalgic in the same way that 90’s home videos do. There’s something about capturing a moment in time that can never be replicated (no matter how hard some digital filters may try). Whether it’s your first steps on the VCR recorded by your mom in 1995 or those first steps out of the church as husband & wife; the emotions from both feel palpable. It’s no wonder why film photography has skyrocketed in popularity. And it’s why I get so excited when a couple adds film to their wedding package! Here are some of my favorite pics from Catholic weddings shot on film in 2025.
The grainy hue and sun spot imperfections are what make the photos so darling. Instead of focusing on the perfect exposure or focus, the spotlight is on how beautiful you and your love is!
Don’t get me wrong, digital photography captures all the joy, hugs with your favorite people, and the nuptial mass beautifully. Film is just an additional way to encapsulate all the feelings you feel on your wedding day! These photos really give “Father of the Bride” and 90’s wedding rom-com vibes, which I love.
