A STUNNING DAY FILLED WITH GOLD LEAVES, GOLD TABLES, AND GOLD LOVE IN GOLDEN CATHEDRALS – IOWA CATHOLIC WEDDING
Grace and Garret met at his cousin’s wedding out on the dance floor. Grace wanted a drink but didn’t have any cash so Garret offered to buy her one. She tried to pay him back, but he made an Irish goodbye, where she didn’t have the opportunity. She then contacted a mutual friend to get his Venmo, and they started chatting. The two started dating in 2024, got engaged in early 2025, and were married on October 25th. Keep reading to hear all about their Iowa Catholic Wedding!
When I asked Garret and Grace what the most important thing was for them throughout this process, they answered, “To fully enter into the Sacrament of marriage and continue building up the Domestic Church.” Not that they’re getting graded, but I’d give that an A+.
Now onto Grace and Garret’s first look amongst all the fall colors. They really leaned into rich, warm oranges, golds, and navy, which we love here at Nikayla & Co.
THE WEDDING MASS
Finally, time for the best part of the day, the Iowa Catholic Wedding. After Garret escorted the moms down the aisle, he came back for Grace. They entered the church together, a traditional Catholic practice, smiling with palpable joy. After a glorious wedding mass at Cathedral of the Epiphany with tears of joy after receiving the Eucharist and a phenomenal dip kiss in the aisle, Grace and Garret ran down the church steps with their bridal party cheering.
I have no other thoughts besides cute, cute, cute. A couple so so in love with each other. Oh, and headed into the Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center where their beautiful reception was.
After speeches that left multiple people teary eyed, we moved into first dances. For Grace’s father-daughter dance, she invited up anybody who had been a father-figure in her life. Then Garret and Grace cut their adorable little cake from Crumb. A business locally owned by the IT Director that Grace works with. According to Grace they are an, “amazing family with an amazing story, and the best cakes.”
