Hi, everyone! Thank you endlessly for your support in my photography and videography business, Nikayla & Co. I love the art of capturing images and the emotions that flood the soul when a couple watches back their wedding video, but I also wanted to share that a special piece of my heart goes to wedding florals. While I am primarily a Sioux Falls Wedding Florist, I do serve clients in other states when I know my photography schedule will allow the blooms to stay as fresh as can be!🪻
I first started offering floral arrangements in 2021 (?) after years of just playing around with flowers and loving it. The fact that I can incorporate another one of my favorite hobbies into my business is a gift I will never understand why I get to receive. I love bold pops of color like the pink and orange roses you see (especially when they are so close to all of these citrus fruits), but also love a timeliness bouquet of whites and greens. I think if I had to decide my wedding flowers again, I would go the timeless way, simply because my favorite color changes every few months 😅
Over the years of being both a wedding florist and photographer, I’ve learned that the two art forms honestly couldn’t be much more different. Floral work is ALL prep and very little action after the day of. While photography is a smaller piece of prep, and many weeks of editing afterwards. I only take on about 3-5 floral gigs per year, but it’s kind of the perfect balance for me.
This blog includes just some of my favorite floral projects I’ve done over the years, including dried bouquets (!!) with hints of lavender and periwinkle, & even with *dried daisies*, I truly couldn’t wait to make them.
