A FESTIVE OHIO CATHOLIC WEDDING WITH JOYOUS FIRST LOOKS, A STUNNING CHURCH, AND JUST A TINY BIT OF SNOW

Sophia and Patrick met on Catholic Match. They lived in different states, Michigan and Ohio, but somehow Sophia’s profile landed in front of Patrick on her birthday, and he messaged her. Sophia says, “Of all the birthday notes I’d gotten that day, Patrick’s line was the only one that was clever/made me laugh – and his profile immediately made me feel like he was someone I could be best friends with… something I’d prayed for in a future husband.” Now here they are at their Ohio Catholic Wedding, getting married exactly one year after their conversation began.

To start the day, Sophia and her girls got ready at the Hilton Garden Inn. I love the colors Sophia and Patrick chose, along with this cute custom handbag Sophia’s mom made. It includes fabric from her mom’s wedding dress and a piece from her baptismal gown; how incredibly special.

Having two little brothers myself, this first look was especially emotional and sweet. Anytime you have time to do first looks and want them, we will absolutely make sure they fit into your timeline.

Before this beautiful ceremony, Sophia & her bridesmaids & parents prayed. Patrick and his groomsmen also prayed in a side chapel. The wedding coordinator came upstairs, wiping away tears after, saying she had never seen women pray together like that before a wedding mass, and she was just in awe and couldn’t stop blotting away the tears, despite having done this job for many years.

THE WEDDING MASS AT OUR LADY OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY
Who knew there was such a gorgeous cathedral in Toledo?? I would come here again just to tour it. It is the only Spanish Plateresque style cathedral in the entire country!

On one of the questionnaires I sent out, Sophia said “we both really hope & pray that [people see] how a wedding feast mirrors the wedding feast to come in heaven.” And that was definitely happening the entire day through, even before the sacraments began.

Now onto the reception at Nazareth Hall with a surprise for all of the guests, a surprise band, Blue Water Kings Band.

“Only God could have set this up, and we’re both so grateful He did – we frequently tell each other, ‘you were worth the wait.’” – Sophia
