A BRIGHT AND COLORFUL CATHOLIC WEDDING IN SIOUX FALLS, SOUTH DAKOTA AT MY HOME PARISH FEATURING SMALL BUSINESSES LIKE COFFEA ROASTERIE, TAQUERIA JUANITA, ALPHA GRAPHICS, THE SDSU ICE CREAM TRUCK, AND NIKAYLA & CO. GARDENS.
Courtney and Alejandro met for the first time on their first date! They were set up by a mutual friend who is, obviously, really good at playing matchmaker 😉 Their South Dakota Catholic Wedding was full of sunny skies and intimate moments.
Their details were full of stunning deep pink & sunset orange summery “Coco” aesthetic 🧡🌺🌯🍏💖🐎 It seriously felt like I was taking photos for a fun styled shoot all day.
I started off the day around 8 am, setting up the florals and snapping photos of the reception space. It was an honor to be both the photography and floral team for this day.
Courtney’s AMDG tattoo kept grabbing my attention as she was getting ready. It stands for the Latin phrase Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, which means “For the greater glory of God.”
Alejandro and Courtney got ready in separate parts of the Meadow Barn but met up for a first look and final touches. Alejandro helped Courtney put on her mom’s pearls and her heels.
THE CEREMONY
A big thumbs up from Father, and we were ready for a holy wedding celebration at Christ the King in Sioux Falls (my very own parish 🤩).
Courtney getting all weepy during her vows was my favorite part of this day, but a close second was literally everything else because the whole thing was such a dream 🌷⛪️❤️🔥
Is anyone else as obsessed with this ruffled veil as I am?!
Courtney and Alejandro supported so many South Dakota businesses and that simply makes my heart so happy. 🥺 They had a coffee cart and taco truck (!!) that you could go to as soon as you arrived at the reception. A friend of theirs had done something similar at their wedding, inspiring the couple to lean away from an overly organized reception and let the evening flow more naturally.
A grand entrance, a first dance, and finally time for those delicious tacos.
