TIMELESS, ELEGANT, & ENERGETIC ARE ONLY A FEW WORDS I CAN USE TO DESCRIBE THIS STUNNING SOUTH DAKOTA CATHOLIC WEDDING
Tess and Preston’s South Dakota Catholic wedding is one I will forever treasure. Fun fact, I actually photographed her older sister Hope’s wedding almost two years ago. I’m so so thankful for these two, Tess’s friendship and wonderful family, and a wedding that used every part to glorify God.
Tess and Preston’s wedding mass was at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. This church is one of my absolute favorites to photograph because of it’s high ceilings, beautiful arches, and wooden detailing on the pews.
Now time for joyful hugs and sweet celebrations in the back of the church. We hadn’t originally planned to have this much of a receiving line, but at this moment, we were ahead of schedule. I knew how much Tess and Preston wanted to interact with their guests so I took a back seat and just photographed these natural moments as they unfolded. Once it got to the time where we had planned to start family photos we were already naturally moving into that which was *chefs kiss*.
Now, onto the reception at Emerald Pines. Where there were many speeches, a cake cutting, a little time for me to photograph a flat lay, and my little girls (whom Tess and her little sister babysit) dancing with Hector.

To end the night, Tess, Preston, and I snuck outside to get some beautiful portraits with the setting sun. This part of the day often produces the most natural photos of the day because the bride and groom don’t have anything more “to do.” We’re all just soaking in the moment and the joy.
