A SPRING CATHOLIC WEDDING IN SIOUX FALLS AT THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOSEPH WITH A RECEPTION AT GATE CITY

Elizabeth and Travis met when Elizabeth’s brother-in-law brought his brother on the family vacation. They were fast friends and hung out any time Elizabeth was in Brookings. After a couple of months they started dating and here they are, getting married in a gorgeous Cathedral for their South Dakota Spring Wedding.

This Marian icon in the flat lay is a gift from Elizabeth’s mom, a plaque from the Carmelite sisters in Alexandria promising perpetual prayers for their marriage. Her bridesmaid dresses, along with all of the decorations, created a beautiful spring color scheme.

Elizabeth and I met when I was looking for a babysitter for my little girls. I was so excited when she inquired with me for her wedding photos and to be able to capture such a faithful, devout couple!

Travis and his men were some of the most supportive and good guys to work with. My second shooter got a couple of photos of them “throwing around” Travis before traveling to the church where Elizabeth and he had their first look and letter reading.

Now, onto the most beautiful part of the day, the wedding mass at St. Joseph Cathedral. It’s such an honor to capture these moments, but even more so when they’re close to my home.

After Travis and Elizabeth’s wedding mass, we made our way to the Japanese Gardens for some bright, happy portraits. The cherry blossoms were a perfect touch to their spring wedding and looked phenomenal next to these bouquets from Flower Mill.

If anyone is looking for a great way to get a moment of rest on their wedding day, I highly recommend copying Elizabeth and Travis’s idea of having a private dinner. Just you and your new spouse enjoying some good food and quality time before celebrating the night with all of your guests.
