A FALL WEDDING IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN FEATURING A RICE CRISPY CAKE
Collin and Gabby met at a Christian fellowship program where they studied political philosophy together. Neither had plans to date, but Collin decided they were so “bizarrely compatible” that he had to give it a shot despite himself. And Gabby, despite herself, agreed to go on a date with him! They quickly realized their interest, hobbies, and spiritual aspirations lined up really well. Gabby says Collin has been a great support in her journey to Catholicism an the Lord, “called us into this vocation to love and grow with one another.” They had such a sweet Catholic wedding, and I am so grateful to have been able to witness and document it!
These portraits of the guys getting ready have to be some of my favorites of all time. The house they got ready at is stunning, and they were just such joyful men.
Gabby and I met when I stayed at her house almost 2 years before her own wedding. I was staying at her house with her roommates when I was in Milwaukee for another wedding! They invited me to eat dinner with them, and we had this crazy good random fellowship even though I was just meeting them for the first time.
Also, fun story: Gabby has a triplet named Siena. I had never heard this name before, but I was about 10 weeks pregnant when I visited them and instantly loved the name. I told Hector and we decided super early on that pregnancy that if we had another baby girl, we would name her Siena!
The lovely St. Robert Catholic Church with its golden mosaics, marble pillars, and graceful arches. This is one of the classiest weddings I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. Something about green bridesmaids is just so eye-catching and romantic. Everything was made even better by Gabby’s ring, an emerald.
The exterior of St Roberts’ was so perfect for group photos! This was a November wedding with a bit of a late ceremony start time (just like my own!), but as long as you have one gorgeous location, you can get all the portraits you need right during golden hour and dusk.
I had no idea what to expect with a venue Called “Saint Kate’s Art Hotel” but WOW. All of the details were simple but beautifully timeless.
A reception at Saint Kate the Arts Hotel with sweet speeches, loving tears, and a rice kripsy cake (which is actually really hilariously challenging to cut lol).
Oh, and please for the love of all things cute, look at Collin’s face as he gazes at his gorgeous wife during their first dance.
