CLASSY AND ELEGANT WISCONSIN WINTER WEDDING WITH LOTS OF LOVE FOR OUR LADY AT THE BASILICA OF ST. JOSAPHAT AND RECEPTION AT BARN ON THE BOG.
Mikaela and Todd met when they were both FOCUS missionaries at the University of South Dakota. These two became friends after Mikaela lost her mittens and Todd dug through the snow and helped her find them. God called them on different paths after their time at USD but brought them back together and sparks flew! Todd proposed in front of Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine at Trinity Heights and these two were married on her feast day at the Basilica of St. Josaphat.
There was no detail was left unthought of throughout the day (peep the mittens in the flatlay!) and each one felt so intentional. It was one of the largest flatlays I’ve ever photographed and I truly loved every detail they included. Then the girls began their day getting ready together and Mikaela slipped into her dress with the help of her mom and then some teary first looks before heading to the Basilica.
“We really want our wedding to honor Our Lady and be a time for evangelism for our family and friends. We both love the church and have missionary hearts, so its a beautiful opportunity to share the Faith, our Faith and our love for God during our wedding. We’re most excited for Mass and for little details that make everything have meaning. We don’t really want all the attention; we want to give it to Jesus and His Mother.” And Mikaela and Todd’s nuptial mass did just that. The beautiful liturgy, roses for our Mother, and tender first moments as husband and wife encapsulate the love and joy that was present all throughout their day.
A Wisconsin Winter wedding day wouldn’t be complete without portraits in the snow, and these two were just glowing! Followed by a reception at Barn on the Bog, where there was surprise Irish dancing (seriously how FUN!), a wedding march, and a dance party surrounded by Christmas trees.
