Catherine + Thomas
Catherine & Thomas wanted to focus their moody, rainstorm-filled spring day on their mutual hobbies. They love this bookstore in uptown Minneapolis, called Magers & Quinn. They were happy to have a couple of loyal customers show a little cuddly love in front of the camera in their store!
After taking a little stroll in the rain, Catherine put her hair up to change up her look and we got some coffee and spent a bit of time at Spyhouse, a legendary MN coffee shop chain. This particular Spyhouse had a back room that was empty, where we took photos by the rainy windows and the pretty brick.
We even took a few photos outside! And I took some through the window of course (which I also did at their wedding, which will hopefully be blogged in the next few months)!
Indoor sessions with patient people are really fun, because we can get two photos that are nearly identical but exposed very differently to create a silhouette effect in one of them.
As you can tell, this was an ice cold rain, as we were barely in the “spring” of Minnesota in March. You can’t beat the soft skin tones and water puddle reflections of a rainy engagement session though! Cheers, Catherine & Thomas!!
