“In Abel’s words “I put the moves on and that was that”. In reality…. we met during our first year as FOCUS missionaries. No one could put the moves on anyone, as we committed to the dating fast!” A year later and through the Lord’s providence Sophie & Abel began dating and a year of long distance was had. Then Abel proposed to Sophie at her childhood home! It all led to this beautiful day!
Sophie began the day getting ready with her girls and even had a relic of St. Maria Goretti! Also notice Sophie’s bracelet, the simple strand of pearls all came from her mother’s wedding dress, such a sweet way include her parent’s wedding and find her “something old”.
A tender first look and a surprise that Sophie had been hiding for years. Since they began dating, way before they knew that they were called to marry each other, Sophie had been writing letters to Abel with the intention that she would gift them to him on their wedding day. Seeing how intentional these two are told me everything I needed to know about what was to come.
Onto a beautiful nuptial mass at Church of Saint Mary in Sioux Falls, where our Heavenly Mother was looking down on her children. Before mass began Sophie and her girls took a moment to pray and her little flower girl was clearly just enamored by Sophie.
Sophie & Abel’s family and friends were some of the most lively groups I’ve ever met and their reception at Mosaic Sioux Falls was the perfect proof! Iconic bridal party entrances, sweet speeches and a dance floor that never died, it was the perfect ending to a summer Sioux Falls wedding day celebrating Sophie & Abel’s love.
