A THOUGHTFUL SETUP, A SWEET PROPOSAL, A PRAYERFUL MOMENT, AND AN INTIMATE PARTY
SHE SAID YES
Koji proposed to Kendra in the gorgeous summer months in a backyard in San Diego, after setting up string lights, photos of the two of them, and many props and meaningful bits around so that the whole atmosphere spoke of their love and relationship.
As Kendra got nearer to the house, and her friend was driving her to see “a home she was thinking of buying” (a great diversion if you ask me), everyone who was there to celebrate hustled into the house and crammed inside, making sure they weren’t visible through the windows.
Kendra arrived and you could tell by the look on her face that her heart was already trembling with happiness.
She met Koji at the gate, and he walked her to the very spot where he wanted to propose. They danced quietly to a harp playing sentimental covers to songs that they both liked, and me and a videographer quietly walked around the couple as Koji began telling the love of his life just how much she meant to him.
As Koji dropped to one knee, solidifying the fact that he was asking Kendra to be his wife, she cried and said yes a handful of times, hugging him relentlessly. Everyone stormed out of the house with celebratory hollers and cheers!
Kendra showed her ring to friends…
…and both received hugs from everyone.
They then walked into the house’s chapel (it was an old rectory of some kind) for some intimate time praying together with smiles from ear to ear.
We ate, we celebrated, and we all caught up with old friends and made new ones. A perfect darkness fell and the joy in us all was beyond obvious.
