A FALL WEDDING THAT CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS TRADITIONAL, REVERENT, AND ELEGANT.
Emma and Peter met for the first time on a blind date! Peter was doing a roofing job for one of Emma’s friends (check it out) and the friend reached out to Emma’s sister to start collaborating how they would set the two up. This wedding was also very special for me, because Emma was a kid in my youth group when I was in moorhead for college! I’ve known her since she was like 15 and she has always been of the most faithful and gentle people. Needless to say, they are a gorgeous couple and I’m so grateful I was able to photograph their Traditional Latin Mass Wedding.
Emma and her ladies got ready at the Synclaire in Fargo, one of my favorite spaces I’ve ever shot in. I seriously could not explain to you all the things I love about it. AMAZING morning light upstairs, a huge area for the ladies to get ready, and beautiful features like the hardwood and a fireplace.
Emma’s slipped into her dress from Jackie’s Bridal & Prom with a mom, glowing with pride, at her side. It’s not often the sun pours through the window like this at the most opportune time, but I think The Father was just beaming seeing sweet, pious Emma all ready to go get married.
Peter got ready with his guys and led a prayer before heading out for Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frazee. It was a bit of a drive, but Emma & Peter had their hearts set on having a Latin Mass, so we drove almost an hour from Fargo to make it happen.
The bride and groom started their days extra early so they could pray a rosary together, exchange heartfelt letters, and receive the sacrament of reconciliation before the Traditional Latin Mass Wedding.
TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS WEDDING
This ceremony felt like heaven on earth – sweet flower girls and ring bearers, a full church, all the ladies with veils, and the Lord coming down to us all in a simple piece of bread. They had Bishop Cuzzins as officiant, Emma’s uncle priest to give the homily, and a close friend as assistant priest. Fun fact: I got to attend Bishop Cuzzins ordination as a bishop when I was serving on NET, it was amazing.
After Emma and Peter’s wedding ceremony, we took some portraits in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and at a local park. Emma’s veil is still an obsession of mine to this day as well as her flowers from a cute *newer* floral shop!
Then it was time for the reception at the stunning Synclaire Events Venue.
Some sunset portraits after dinner and time for speeches where Emma & Peter cozied up next to each other and took in all the kind words from their guests.
Next came the father daughter dance, with a special surprise. Emma & her mom secretly repurposed *her* wedding dress for Emma to wear and many tears were shed as a result ðŸ˜
